The world's largest single-scale titanium dioxide production base has landed in Gansu Baiyin

CNNC Titanium Asia Titanium Industry Production Base Landing Silver Signing Ceremony was held in Baiyin City, Ganli Province. According to the plan, Baiyin will build a 500,000-ton clean production process resource comprehensive utilization project, and become the world's largest single-scale titanium dioxide production base.

Zhang Xuchen, mayor of Baiyin City, Gansu Province, said that this will further extend the silver and titanium dioxide industry chain, reduce production and operation costs, drive the development of upstream and downstream enterprises, create more employment opportunities, and promote the transformation, upgrading and high-quality development of the silver industry.

The project is invested and constructed by CNNC Huayuan Titanium Dioxide Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CNNC Titanium Dioxide) in Yindong Industrial Park, Baiyin High-tech Zone, with an estimated total investment of 6 billion yuan (RMB, the same below).

The first phase of the project, 100,000 tons has been completed and put into production, with an asset scale of about 2 billion yuan; the second phase is planned to build a production capacity of 400,000 tons, and the investment scale is expected to be around 4 billion yuan. The investment in the titanium dioxide-containing finished product processing project is planned to be in 2020. Construction will start in October, and all investment is expected to be completed during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

Baiyin City, named after its mines and set up as a city for its enterprises, is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and in the middle of Gansu. It is the largest multi-variety non-ferrous metal industrial base in China and an important new chemical energy base in the west. The territory is rich in mineral resources, with 33 kinds of minerals discovered, 1.6 billion tons of coal reserves, 1.5 billion tons of proven attapulgite resources, and 4 billion tons of clay reserves.

The implementation of this project can make full use of the abundant coal and electricity resources in the Baiyin area, and can digest waste by-products such as acid and ash slag in situ, so as to realize the organic combination with the local chemical enterprises in Baiyin, and form the enterprise products as raw materials for each other. Chemical recycling industry chain for external recycling of waste.

The contracted projects on the day focused on cooperation in business areas such as raw material supply, logistics and transportation, production and domestic water supply, to ensure continuous production after the project was put into operation, effectively reduce project operating costs, and improve the supply efficiency of major raw materials.

CNNC Titanium Dioxide is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of rutile titanium dioxide. At present, it has become the second largest titanium dioxide production and technical service enterprise in Asia and the sixth largest in the world.

Wang Zelong, the actual controller of CNNC Huayuan Titanium Dioxide Co., Ltd., said that it is expected that in the next three to five years, CNNC Titanium Dioxide will have an annual production capacity of more than 1 million tons and become the world's largest high-end manufacturing technology enterprise in the titanium industry.
