1. Product Overview

ZOOMRY Conveyor idlers are essential components that support the belt across carrying, return, and loading zones for smooth, efficient bulk material transport. Our range spans the full CEMA B/C/D/E spectrum — from light-duty to extra heavy-duty — covering belt widths from 18 to 96 inches. Each idler is built with precision bearings, multi-stage labyrinth seals, and a choice of Q235 steel, HDPE, ceramic, or stainless steel roller shells for mining, quarrying, cement, and industrial applications.

Two fundamental categories serve every conveyor: carrying idlers support the loaded belt on the top run, while return idlers support the empty belt on the bottom run. Within these categories, specialized types — impact, self-aligning, V-return, rubber disc, and spiral — address specific challenges such as loading zone impact, belt mistracking, and sticky material buildup. See how ZOOMRY idlers perform in long-distance curved conveyor projects.

2. Idler Types & Configurations

Carrying Idlers (Top Sets) — Support the loaded belt with troughing sets of three rollers at 20°, 35°, or 45° angles. Available in equal and unequal roller configurations. The most widely specified carrying side idler — see our troughing carrying idler range for detailed specifications.

Return Idlers (Bottom Sets) — Support the empty belt on its return path with flat, V-return, or self-cleaning rubber disc configurations. Browse our CEMA C return idlers for medium-duty return sections.

Impact Idlers — Equipped with rubber cushion rings to absorb falling material energy at crusher discharge and transfer points. These idlers help protect the belt from puncture and carcass fatigue. Also consider conveyor impact beds for additional loading zone protection.

Self-Aligning Idlers — Pivot-mounted frames with side guide rollers automatically correct belt drift on both carrying and return sides — no sensors, no power required. Explore our CEMA C self-aligning troughing idlers for automatic tracking correction.

3. Key Features

Full CEMA Coverage — CEMA B through E ratings for belt widths from 18" to 96", with roller diameters from 89mm to 219mm — one supplier for all idler positions across the conveyor system.

Precision Sealed Bearings — Deep groove ball bearings with multi-stage labyrinth seals keep out dust and moisture, reducing maintenance intervals and delivering extended service life in coal and mineral processing environments.

Shock Absorption — Impact idlers with rubber cushion rings help protect the belt and structure at loading zones — reducing splice fatigue and cover wear.

Automatic Belt Alignment — Self-aligning idlers correct belt tracking without external power, helping significantly reduce edge wear and material spillage in cement and aggregate applications.

Corrosion Protection — Available with hot-dip galvanized, powder coated, or stainless steel finishes for harsh, high-humidity, and chemical environments — including fertilizer and salt handling facilities.

4. Idler Type Selection Guide

Idler Type Position Key Function Best For
Carrying (Troughing) Top run Support loaded belt, contain material All conveyor carrying sections
Return Bottom run Support empty belt, prevent sagging All conveyor return sections
Impact Loading zones Absorb impact, protect belt Crusher discharge, transfer points
Self-Aligning Both runs Correct belt mistracking Long overland, reversible conveyors
V-Return Bottom run Self-centering return support Mistracking-prone return sections
Rubber Disc / Spiral Bottom run Self-cleaning, shed carryback Sticky materials — coal, clay, overburden
