spiral scraper conveyor Overview
spiral scraper conveyors from ZOOMRY are bulk reclaiming and transfer systems available in enclosed or dust-controlled configurations for coal, gravel, grain, ore, and fine-powder handling. Rated for 100–2,000 t/h throughput with spiral outer diameters from 500 to 800 mm, this spiral scraper conveyor pairs a rotating scraper assembly with an integrated belt conveyor for controlled, low-spillage operation in mining, cement, metallurgy, and stockyard applications.
Unlike conventional fixed screw conveyors, the unit is built around a spiral scraper reclaiming mechanism that gathers material across a 2.4–3.6 m retrieval width before transferring it to the integrated belt. Available with rubber or steel tracked chassis and dual wireless/local control, it adapts to both soft stockyard ground and hard quarry terrain. For specialized grain handling requirements, see the Grain spiral scraper conveyor variant.
Working Principle
The spiral scraper conveyor operates on a two-stage reclaim-and-transfer principle. A hydraulically driven rotating spiral assembly, fitted with 6–8 mm wear-resistant blades and alloy-coated teeth, penetrates the material pile across the full retrieval width. As the spiral rotates, the helical blade geometry draws material inward toward the centerline while the alloy teeth help manage lightly compacted material to maintain continuous reclaiming.
Reclaimed material is then discharged onto the integrated belt conveyor, which elevates it to a fixed 4 m discharge height for direct loading into trucks or downstream conveyors. The adaptive pressure adjustment function automatically modulates spiral speed and scraping depth when oversized material is encountered, feeding resistance data to the HMI in real time. This differs from standard en-masse chain conveyors, which require material to be gravity-fed into a confined trough rather than actively scraped from a stockpile.
Key Features
- Alloy-Toothed Spiral Blades: 6–8 mm thick blades with high-strength alloy teeth deliver approximately 1.2× the wear resistance of ordinary carbon-steel blades, based on material-design data, sustaining long-term impact from gravel and ore.
- Dual Tracked Chassis Options: Rubber tracks (400×90×68, 2.9 m effective length, 0.07 MPa ground pressure) suit soft ground; steel tracks (400×135×54, 3.6 m effective length, HRC58-62 hardened plates) handle rough hard surfaces.
- Integrated Belt Conveyor: Nylon-core anti-slip rubber belt with diamond-pattern surface treatment helps reduce material rollback when handling wet coal or sticky gravel.
- Dual-Mode Control System: 304 stainless steel IP65 control cabinet plus 100 m wireless remote control, with operation memory for three parameter sets and built-in overload protection.
- Modular Component Design: Bolted alloy teeth and segmented spiral blades enable individual replacement without full spiral shaft disassembly, supporting simplified on-site maintenance.

Throughput depends on material bulk density, particle-size distribution, moisture content, reclaiming depth, and operating speed. This spiral scraper conveyor is suitable for stockyards, mining sites, aggregate plants, and port bulk handling operations where tracked mobility and integrated reclaim-to-load capability are required.
What Information Do We Need for Spiral Scraper Conveyor Selection?
To provide an accurate spiral scraper conveyor configuration, please share the following project parameters:
- Material type and characteristics: Bulk density (t/m³), particle size distribution, moisture content, and whether material is sticky or free-flowing.
- Required throughput: Target capacity in t/h, including peak surge requirements.
- Stockpile or feed conditions: Material pile height, retrieval width requirement, and whether material is fed by truck, loader, or existing conveyor.
- Site terrain and ground conditions: Soft ground (for rubber tracks) or hard/rough surface (for steel tracks), plus any slope or space constraints.
- Existing equipment and installation context: Current reclaiming method, downstream conveyor or truck loading interface, and whether this is a retrofit or new installation.
