V Return Belt Cleaner

ZOOMRY V-return belt cleaner mounts on the non-working surface of the return belt to scrape off bulk material that accumulates on the inside belt face and discharges it to both sides. Positioned after the primary and secondary cleaning stages, it prevents carryback from reaching return idlers and causing belt mistracking. Available for belt widths from 500 to 2,200 mm with a V-shaped blade profile that splits material evenly to both sides of the conveyor.

Product Overview

ZOOMRY V-return Belt Cleaner is a third-stage cleaning device mounted on the non-working (inside) surface of the return belt — after the primary and secondary scrapers have cleaned the carrying side. Its V-shaped polyurethane blade splits accumulated material to both sides of the conveyor, preventing buildup on return rollers that causes belt mistracking and premature roller failure. In high-dust environments like cement plants and coal handling, a V-return cleaner typically extends return roller service life by 30–50%.

When Do You Need a V-Return Cleaner in Your Conveyor System?

Not every conveyor requires a V-return cleaner. It becomes essential when:

  • Material reaches the return side — sticky materials like clay, wet coal fines, or gypsum bypass primary and secondary scrapers and adhere to the belt's inside surface.
  • Return rollers show uneven wear — material buildup on rollers creates diameter variations that pull the belt off-track.
  • Cleanup labor costs are rising — manual shoveling of spillage under the return run adds recurring operating expense.
  • Belt splice damage is frequent — hardened material lumps on the inside belt surface can crack mechanical splices as they pass over pulleys.

In fertilizer and chemical plants, V-return cleaners are particularly valuable — hygroscopic materials like urea and potash absorb atmospheric moisture and form a corrosive paste on the belt's inside surface.

How a V-Return Cleaner Completes the Three-Stage Cleaning System

A complete Conveyor Belt cleaning strategy uses three stages working in sequence: the primary cleaner removes 70–80% of carryback at the head pulley, the secondary cleaner captures fine residual material, and the V-return cleaner handles the inside belt surface — the only component addressing the non-working side. Skipping the V-return stage means inside-surface buildup continues unchecked, eventually causing return rollers to seize or belt tracking to drift beyond correctable limits.
