1. Product Overview

ZOOMRY CEMA C V-return idlers are medium-duty return side components with a V-shaped two-roller self-centering design. Engineered to CEMA C standards for mining and industrial belt conveyors up to 42-inch belt width, these return idlers use angled rollers to create a natural centering force — automatically correcting return belt drift without the complexity of pivot mechanisms. Available with 4-inch and 5-inch diameter rollers in two base heights: H1=4 1/2" and H1=7".

V-return idlers are the preferred return side solution where belt mistracking causes edge wear and material spillage. The V-configuration passively guides the belt back to center on every rotation, making them ideal for aggregate and cement conveyors where return belt tracking is critical.

2. How V-Return Self-Centering Works

On the return side of a belt conveyor, the belt travels with its clean side in contact with the rollers. Without active tracking, even small frame misalignments or unbalanced loading can cause the belt to drift to one side — leading to edge damage, roller end cap wear, and material spillage along the return path.

The CEMA C V-return idler solves this passively: two rollers are mounted at equal opposing angles (typically 10° each from horizontal), forming a V-shape. When the belt begins to drift, gravity pulls it back down toward the lowest point of the V — creating a continuous self-centering effect with no moving pivot parts. This simple design requires zero maintenance while reducing return-side edge wear by up to 50%.
