Product Overview
With extensive experience in the design and manufacture of bulk material handling equipment, ZOOMRY offers the Mobile Telescopic Stacker – a self-propelled, wheeled stacking system engineered for high-capacity, flexible stockpile operations. The unit integrates a hydraulic telescopic boom (extendable up to 55 metres), a 360° slewing ring, and a remote-controlled wheeled chassis, enabling efficient material management across multiple job sites with minimal setup time.
Since 2005, ZOOMRY has delivered over 200 telescopic stacker units to customers in more than 30 countries, with equipment built to CEMA and ISO standards and available with CE and EAC certifications.
How It Works
The Mobile Telescopic Stacker operates through a continuous material handling sequence:
- Material intake: Bulk material is fed via a hopper, apron feeder, or feeding conveyor onto the main belt, which transfers it to the telescopic section.
- Telescopic extension: The conveyor boom extends hydraulically (up to 55 metres) to reach across the stockpile without relocating the machine, reducing auxiliary equipment requirements.
- Radial slewing: The 360° slewing ring enables radial rotation, creating layered conical stockpiles with uniform particle distribution.
- Inclination adjustment: The hydraulic lifting system adjusts the boom angle up to 20°, controlling stacking height and reducing material degradation.
- Remote mobility: The self-propelled chassis with wireless remote control allows the stacker to be repositioned quickly between stockpile zones or job sites.
Key Technical Advantages
Automated Stockpiling
The stacker supports optional PLC-based automation with pre-programmed layering sequences, radar or laser volume monitoring, and integration with plant DCS or SCADA systems. This enables consistent pile formation, reduced operator workload, and real-time inventory tracking.
High Portability
The self-propelled wheeled chassis allows the stacker to be quickly relocated between stockpile zones or job sites. Hydraulic outriggers enable fast setup and repositioning, making it suitable for multi-site operations and temporary stockpile requirements.
Versatile Material Handling
The equipment handles a wide range of bulk materials including coal, iron ore, limestone, aggregates, grain, and fertilizer. The telescopic layering method (commonly referred to as the "Chevron" or "windrow" method) minimizes particle segregation, degradation, and contamination – preserving material quality across different product types.
Direct Loading
The stacker can receive material directly from feeding conveyors, trucks, or loaders, eliminating the need for intermediate transfer equipment. This reduces material handling stages, lowers operational costs, and minimizes spillage risks.
Additional Advantages
- Eliminates loader dependency: Replaces wheel loaders for stockpile building, reducing labour and fuel costs.
- Space-saving retractable design: The boom retracts when not in use, reducing storage footprint.
- Reduced dust and spillage: Controlled material flow and precise boom positioning minimise environmental impact; optional dust suppression systems (covers, extraction, water spray) available.
- Low maintenance: Robust construction with accessible service points reduces downtime and maintenance costs.
Common Applications
- Ports and coal terminals: High-capacity stacking of coal, iron ore, and aggregates for export/import operations.
- Mining and ore processing: Stockpiling copper, bauxite, and other ores with high throughput and minimal fines generation.
- Cement plants: Continuous stacking of limestone, clinker, and additives for kiln feed preparation.
- Quarry and aggregate production: Stacking crushed stone, sand, and gravel with controlled layering.
- Grain and agricultural terminals: Gentle handling of wheat, corn, and rice with telescopic layering to prevent kernel damage.

Structural Components
Component list: 1-Hydraulic lifting system 2-Front wheel walking device 3-Hydraulic outriggers 4-Hydraulic station system 5-Base 6-Electrical control box 7-Tail wheel rotation device 8-Tow bar 9-Maintenance platform 10-Hopper 11-Main Conveyor Belt 12-Wire rope traction device 13-Telescopic conveyor belt
Front Wheel Walking Device: Consists of walking frame, hydraulic motor, walking tires, chain and chain guard. Connected with the base through the pin. (Tire pressure: 11-12MPa, max 12MPa). In normal use, the hydraulic legs lift the front part of the base completely. After the tires leave the ground, remote control the front wheel walking device to the working position. After arriving, use tie rods on both sides to connect with pins, then retract hydraulic outriggers, allowing normal work or rotation. When leaving the site, lift cylinder outriggers again and remotely control the driving device.
Tail Wheel Rotating Device: Composed of tire, turntable, and bracket. The base and belt conveyor frame are installed on this bracket for 360° rotation, enabling the radial stacking function.
Electric Control Box: Bolted and installed on the base. The electric control box is the operation center of the entire stacker, and all operations are completed on the electric control box.
Inclination range: The stacker angle can be controlled between 4° and 20°.
Belt splicing: For belt conveyors and mobile telescopic stackers intended for long-term continuous operation, site vulcanizing is required. ZOOMRY can supply the vulcanizing machine with the telescopic stacker or long-distance belt conveyor system.
Automation & Control Options
- Wireless Remote Control (Standard): Full machine control – travel, slew, telescoping, and incline – from a safe distance.
- PLC-Based Auto-Stacking (Optional): Pre-programmed layering sequences for consistent pile formation and reduced operator workload.
