Conveyor Roller

Spiral Roller

ZOOMRY spiral idler rollers — also known as steel spiral return rollers — are self-cleaning return-side idlers designed to help reduce sticky carryback buildup on the return belt, particularly near the belt center where material can concentrate. A welded steel helix directs accumulated material toward the roller edges as the roller rotates, helping maintain a more consistent roller profile in coal, clay, wet ash, and sticky mineral applications. Available in roller diameters from 76mm to 219mm and lengths up to 3,500mm. For a detailed self-cleaning mechanism explanation, see our steel spiral return roller flagship page.

1. Product Overview

ZOOMRY spiral idler rollers are self-cleaning return-side idlers for bulk material conveyor systems. A welded steel helix on the roller shell directs sticky carryback toward the roller edges during rotation — helping maintain a more consistent roller profile in coal, clay, wet ash, and sticky mineral applications. Available in roller diameters from 76mm to 219mm and lengths from 190mm to 3,500mm.

For a detailed explanation of the self-cleaning mechanism and comparison with rubber disc return rollers, see our steel spiral return roller flagship page.

ZOOMRY spiral idler roller — welded steel helix self-cleaning return-side idler

The spiral return roller helps maintain a consistent roller profile by directing carryback toward the roller edges.

2. Key Features

Welded Steel Helix Surface — Directs sticky carryback toward the roller edges during rotation, helping reduce buildup near the belt center in coal and clay return-side applications.

Labyrinth Seal Arrangement — Non-contact labyrinth seal design helps protect the bearing assembly from dust and moisture ingress while maintaining low rotational resistance.

High-Precision ERW Roller Pipe — Q235 carbon steel pipe with excellent roundness and straightness for well-balanced rotation and reduced vibration.

C3-Clearance Deep-Groove Ball Bearings — C3 clearance can be selected to accommodate operating temperature and fit conditions. Bearing protection is supported by the roller's external labyrinth seal arrangement. Bearing options: SKF, FAG, NSK, LYC, HRB.

Multiple Surface / Spiral Options — Painted, rubber-coated, welded steel spiral, or galvanized configuration available to match operating environment and material conditions.

What Information Do We Need for Spiral Idler Roller Selection?

  • Belt width, conveyor length, and belt speed
  • Material type, moisture content, and carryback location (center vs full width)
  • Required roller diameter, length, shaft diameter, and bearing size
  • Required roller construction and corrosion protection — welded steel spiral, painted, rubber-coated, or galvanized configuration
  • Operating environment — dust, moisture, temperature range, and corrosion conditions
