ZOOMRY Flat Return Rollers are commonly mounted on the bottom of a belt conveyor to support the returning belt and prevent sagging. In flat belt scenarios, these return rollers can also be used as carry idlers to support the Conveyor Belt from below — making them a versatile component for both mining and quarry conveyors.

Available in two bracket variations — a flat carry bracket and a combination bracket — the return roller adapts to both standard return-side support and carry-side applications. Compared to standard steel rollers, return rollers feature a streamlined design that minimizes material buildup on the return belt, reducing maintenance frequency and extending belt service life.

Return Roller vs Standard Carry Roller: What Is the Difference?

While carry rollers support the loaded belt on the top side of the conveyor, return rollers handle the empty belt on the underside — where material spillage and dust accumulation can cause tracking issues and premature wear. The return roller's design focuses on three key functions:

  • Belt Support & Anti-Sag: Prevents the return belt from stretching and sagging between support points — maintaining consistent tension across the full conveyor length.
  • Self-Cleaning Action: The smooth roller surface discourages material adhesion — unlike spiral return rollers which actively scrape the belt, the flat return roller is preferred for clean, dry applications where passive shedding is sufficient.
