Feeding System Configurations

1. Portable Feeding Equipment

Portable feed conveyors are easily set up by producers and are road-transportable between job sites. Numerous sizes and configurations are available to suit different operational requirements — from temporary crusher feeding to mobile stockpile loading. The wheeled chassis and integrated hopper enable deployment in under 30 minutes.

2. Hopper Feeders

Material is loaded into hopper feeders, which discharge at a measured, controlled pace via belt or chain plate. An optional scalping grizzly removes oversize material before it reaches downstream Conveyor Pulleys and crushers. Available in Heavy Duty (up to 3,000 TPH), Low Feed, Tracked, and Static configurations.

3. Tunnel Feeding System

Prefabricated tunnel feeding systems are installed quickly — reducing on-site construction time by up to 60% compared to cast-in-place concrete. The sturdy steel structure prevents settling and deformation, ensuring long-term reliability under heavy stockpile loads. Multiple feeder alternatives — belt, apron, or vibrating — suit coal and cement reclaim tunnels.

Feeding System Comparison

System Type Mobility Capacity Range Best For Setup Time
Portable Feed Conveyor Road-transportable 450 – 900 TPH Temporary sites, crusher feeding ≤ 30 min
Hopper Feeder Wheeled / Tracked / Fixed 800 – 3,000 TPH Continuous process feeding 1 – 4 hours
Tunnel System Fixed (prefabricated) 450 – 900 TPH Stockpile reclaim, permanent install 1 – 3 days

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I choose between a portable feed conveyor and a hopper feeder?

Choose a portable feed conveyor when you need road-transportable mobility and frequent site changes. Choose a hopper feeder when you need higher capacity (up to 3,000 TPH), controlled metered feeding, or a scalping grizzly for oversize removal. For permanent installations, consider a static hopper feeder.

Q: What is a scalping grizzly and do I need one?

A scalping grizzly is a heavy-duty grid installed at the top of the hopper. It removes oversize material — typically above 200-250 mm — before it enters the conveyor. This protects downstream conveyor rollers, belts, and crushers from impact damage. Recommended for blasted rock, demolition debris, and any material with unpredictable particle size.

Q: Can tunnel feeding systems handle corrosive materials like salt or fertilizer?

Yes. For salt and fertilizer applications, we supply tunnel systems with stainless steel contact surfaces, HDPE rollers, and anti-corrosion coating systems to prevent chemical attack and ensure long service life.
